A Shrewsbury teenager is preparing to sell a first collection of nature-inspired jewellery to raise money for Foodbank Plus.

Walt, 16, will bring the repurposed unisex neck collection to Shrewsbury School’s fair on Sunday 29 November, from 11am to 4pm.

According to the family’s submission, 80% of the funds raised from the collection will go directly to Foodbank Plus in Shrewsbury, with Walt aiming to raise £1,000 for the charity.

A family project inspired by nature

The JAAN collection turns shells, pebbles, stones, dried wildflowers and ferns into wearable pieces. Materials have been collected from places where permission was granted, with other components sourced locally where possible.

Walt’s grandfather has helped by drilling the stones and shells, making the collection a shared family project combining creativity, reuse and fundraising.

The pieces will be available at the school fair on 29 November.
