Shropshire Council has completed major improvements at Meole Brace Golf Course in Shrewsbury following the return of grounds maintenance in-house on 1 June this year.
Work undertaken includes the renovation of 26 bunkers across the course and the replacement of the 1st green, which has now reopened following vandalism. An autumn renovation programme has seen extensive reseeding work, improved contouring of fairways and approaches, and ongoing turf management.
Sarah Marston, Shropshire Council's Cabinet member for communities and environment, said the grounds maintenance team has been strengthened with additional staff working to maintain the course to a high standard. "Their dedication is already making a noticeable difference, with many golfers commenting on the improved course conditions, presentation, and overall playing experience," she said.
