Shrewsbury Town FC has announced the withdrawal of four matchday bus services ahead of the new season following a review of usage and operating costs with transport partner Arriva.
The ST2, ST3 and ST4 services, along with the Ludlow service, will not return this season. The club said the number of supporters using these routes was not enough to make them viable.
The ST1 Town Centre Shuttle service between Shrewsbury Bus Station, Shire Hall, and Croud Meadow will continue to operate.
Background to the decision
Two years ago, Shrewsbury Town FC made changes to its supporter bus network to reduce costs. Following a further review of usage and the rising costs of operation, the club determined that services outside Shrewsbury could no longer be sustained.
The club said it had previously published information stating the services would be retained, but was not aware at the time of the full impact of increased operating costs.
Alternative transport options
Public bus services remain available for supporters travelling to the stadium. Service 511 (Wem), X5 (Oswestry) and X10 (Telford) all run to and from Shrewsbury Bus Station for connections with the ST1 Town Centre Shuttle.
Refunds for season ticket holders
Season ticket holders who feel unable to attend matches as a result of losing their bus service can request a full discretionary refund until 2.30pm on Thursday, 13 August. No refunds will be available after this deadline.
Supporters experiencing extreme hardship in reaching the stadium are encouraged to contact the club to explore alternative solutions.
